Amy McPherson 'Mushroom' Screen Print
Screen print on 24x 30 cm bread and butter paper by Paisley-based artist Amy McPherson. Unframed.
Amy creates tactile mixed media illustration work for publishing and editorial contexts, using traditional media, such as collage and pencil, as well as printmaking processes and (occasionally) digital drawing. Reoccurring themes within her work include film, food and figurative character-based motifs.
"I think the joy I get from making illustrations about food is partly due to the vibrant colour palettes associated with the food, and also due to my being vegan and wanting to share my joy of fresh produce with a wider audience. Bruno Munari’s book Roses In The Salad has massively influenced my practice and specifically the Mushroom screen prints - I created the original artworks by creating ink marks with real mushroom slices, then digitally collaged these marks into a composition for screen printing." ~Amy McPherson~
